Gameplay preference: Realism, Coop & TvT
Founded in 2017 under another name and reactivated in September 2018 after a break, the Jaeger Battalion 4 is a WWII based realism unit representing an Jaeger battalion during the war. We value activity, fun and the unique historic setting. We still try to steer away from the "niche" and negative sides of Milsim gameplay; not focusing on unnecessary details.
We're still a small sized crew, however we are actively recruiting people in our ranks. All what is needed is maturity, open mindedness and ability to work together as a unit. We desire our members to hold up a certain etiquette within our ranks by respecting our rules, the general behavior, attitude and goal of the unit. This is to make that everyone can enjoy our events without any drama or non-tolerated behavior.
Missions: Variety and Fun
Jaeger Battalion 4 is based around an historical Finnish jaeger battalion. This gives us variety of different missions and styles of playing through the three wars the battalion took part in. Though we may cover some other units in specific scenarios.
Our missions will be part of bigger campaigns. Campaigns are chain of events which affect each other. Each campaign will be about a specific event or an specific battle. We will try to visit as many fronts as possible and provide our members with a good overview on the war.

Historical JP 4:
Jaeger Battalion 4 originates from the 12th Jaeger Battalion of the White Army in 1918. It took part in battles at Tampere and Karelian isthmus. Following the bloody aftermath of the war, the White Army was demobilized and the existing units went through merges and disbandments. From 1922 the battalion was finally permanently stationed at Sakkola, along the river Vuoksi. After numerous name changes the Battalion was known as 3rd Battalion, Savo Brigade and from 1930 as Vuoksen Jääkäripataljoona (Vuoksi Jaeger Battalion).
In 1936, the Jaeger traditions were given to numerous units: names, marches and colours of many bicycle units were changed. Vuoksen Jääkäripataljoona was then renamed to Jääkäripataljoona 4, name which the battalion were to hold in World War 2. Jaeger troops were trained to master fighting as ski infantry in the winter and as bicycle infantry in the summer. Battalion's logistics and support units were also extensively motorized.
In the Winter War (1939-1940) the Jaeger Battalions consisted of younger conscripts and career personnel. As a result of this they received better equipment and more demanding tasks than normal infantry units.
Jaeger Battalion 4 earned an legendary reputation at the Ladoga Karelia; especially at the battles of Pukitsanmäki and Lemetti. End of the Winter War saw the battalion re-positioning to the island of Santahamina in Helsinki. Maintaining the Presidential honor guard for the President was among their tasks during the interim peace. The President of the Republic, Kyösti Kallio died when he inspected the 1st Company of the Jaeger Battalion 4 on the day of his official retirement. The First company was then nicknamed as the Life-Company (Henkikomppania). The whole battalion was present at the President's funeral.
The peace didn't last for long, the Continuation War started just year later in June 1941.
The Jaeger Battalion 4 was subordinated along with 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the 1st Jaeger Brigade commanded by then Colonel, Ruben Lagus. This formation was the only unit to have organic tank support in the form of the Armored Battalion. The size of this elite formation grew, and by 1942, the Armored Division was born.
The Continuation War took heavy toll to the battalion with it spearheading the advance at Tuulos, Aunus, Petrozavodsk, Karhumäki & Poventsa. Later the battalion took part in Finnish counterattacks at Kuuterselkä and Portinhoikka during the Summer 1944 offensive.
The severely depleted battalion also fought along the river Vuoksi at Vuosalmi in 1944. Continuation war didn't see the end of the service for the battalion. Insteadm it was part of the III Corps which had the task of pushing the German forces out of Lapland.
